Last night I met a lonesome man who I‘d not seen before.
I was on a ship with him & fighting off a storm.
I know why I was there. Yes I was in the land of dreams.
I managed to stay wide & not fall back to sleep.
Why was that man so lonesome? I just did not understand.
I asked him what was wrong but all he did was showed his hands.
He would not say what happened. Oh his soul was like the sea. Dark & unobtainable. There was not a shred of glee.
That man was such a strange one. He was always miles away.
I wanted questions answering but no he wouldn't say.
There was nowhere I could run to. I was trapped there in the rain. That man was such a strange one, & I never knew his name.
That night he tried to chain me up, but I never let him win.
I stepped on both his feet until his face went pale & thin.
That man was like the devil there. He needed a release.
Why was I on that dreary ship? To help his troubles ease?
Why had I been put on there? Had that man become so blind?.
I wished I'd known the answer cuz it was playing on my mind.
The signs weren't very clear but I knew something wasn't right.
I went to check on him but he had gone out of my sight.
Well I did not know what to do. I'd never sailed a ship.
I was only use to golden chariots with whips.
Some shiny stars had fallen down & landed very near,
& so I swam to check them out because the sky looked clear.
When I touched the stars I found that they were very hot.
& then I was transported to a very peaceful spot.
I called it a place but I was told it was a garden,
so I asked them for forgiveness & they granted me their pardons.
"What is this place?" I asked them, & they said "look over there!". Well when I turned & looked I saw that man & he had hair. He said he had recovered thanks to my own caring thoughts, & I said "not a problem" & he thanked me lots & lots.
Afterwards I went & found a little secret garden.
Then suddenly & silently a petal fell & hardened.
I went to pick it up & when I did I was back home.
What an amazing journey & I did it on my own.
I opened up my hand & found the petal that had fallen,
& so I locked it up inside a heart box that was golden.
